Museum of Velikij Ustyug

The formation of the collection began in the first quarter of the 20th century during the expeditions of the museum's employees to Veliky Ustyug, Nyuksensky, Kichmengsko-Gorodetsky, Nikolsky districts of the Vologda region, Shenkursky and Krasnoborsky districts of the Arkhangelsk region. Some of them was presentedby local people of Veliky Ustyug

Main part of the collections made up of tools of farming, peasant household utensils, historical and household items, and production items.

There are more than 150 items of wooden implements in the collection of the museum: wicker, carved, cooperage, carved work: spoons, bowls, mugs, saltcellars, bowls, broths, kegs, troughs, lagoons, podoynitsy, steeplejacks, tubs, syrnitsy, basted boxes, caskets.

The museum has a rich collection of items related to the processing of flax and weaving (more than 100 units of storage).

A significant part of the collection is furniture. Dated mostly con. XIX - early. XX centuries. Earlier items - a wardrobe-secreter of the XVIII century, cabinet gray. XVIII century, the wardrobe painted in. XVIII - n. XIX century.
